Job summary

Boughey Distribution in Crewe is seeking drivers for the night shift on a 5 on, 3 off pattern. You will conduct pre- and post-shift checks, ensure timely deliveries, and assist with loading, unloading and yard duties as required.

Applicants should hold a valid CPC and tachograph card, have Class 1 driving experience, and excellent communication skills to work with customers and the Boughey team on site.

Qualifications

• Previous experience driving Class 1 vehicles

Responsibilities

• Complete vehicle checks at start and end of shift within HGV regulations
• Ensure safe and prompt delivery across Cheshire and surrounding areas
• Maneuver trucks into loading/unloading positions and assist in yard as needed

Day to Day

• Complete vehicle checks at the start and end of each shift –complying withall HGV driving rules throughout your shift to ensure there is no unnecessary damage to vehicles
• Ensure safe and prompt delivery of goods across Cheshire and surrounding areas
• Manoeuvring trucks into loading and unloading positions, ensuring loads are secured, provide support in the yard including handball or pump truck deliveries where required

What will you bring?

• Current CPC and tachograph cardwith a good understanding of driver hours regulations
• Previous experience driving Class 1 vehicles is essential
• Excellent communication skills to be able to handle both customer queries at point of delivery and collaborate effectively with the Boughey team on site
