CDC Clamp Truck Operator I – 1st Shift

New Bern, NC/ Full-time

Your Responsibilities

The Clamp Truck Operator is responsible for loading and unloading product that is shipped and/or received at the Central Distribution Center. As a Clamp Truck Operator, it will be your responsibility to follow and abide by all BSH and CDC rules and procedures to the best of your ability.

Pay range: $19.94 - $27.50

Incentive Plan: Annual Bonus

Incentive Target %: 1%

SHIFT: First

Safety

• Safely operates industrial clamp/ lift truck, manual pallet jacks, and other forms of materials handling equipment on the distribution floor.
• Adheres to BSH guidelines by wearing and utilizing required PPE.

General

• Maintains material handling equipment including electronic computers, mechanical scales, doors, door locks, door levelers, battery chargers and related equipment.
• Loads materials into vehicles, containers, and other forms of transportation installing strapping, bracing or padding to prevent shifting or damage in transit.
• Conveys materials from storage to designated staging areas and records serial numbers using the correct lifting apparatus for the designated product.
• Follows written or oral instructions to ascertain materials or containers to be moved in a timely, scheduled manner to the customer.
• Unloads and sorts materials from trailers and locate in the Distribution Center, either by directed put away or open location.
• Order picks and records number of units of materials moved or handled on a pick ticket.
• Attaches identifying tags or labels to materials or marks information on cases, boxes or other containers.
• Lifts heavy objects by hand or with handling equipment and cleans work area, machines and equipment.
• Palletize and wrap product for shipping.
• Completes PM sheets for his/her lift before each shift and reports any issues immediately
• Demonstrate efficient knowledge of handling signage (fragile, this side up, etc.)
• Report all warehouse damages
• Must maintain inventory accuracy within .5%
• Segregate all quality holds to insure they are not shipped to the customer
• Performs all other duties assigned

Equipment

• Standard Forklift Equipment – Previous experience required. Operate both safely and efficiently.
• Clamp Truck Equipment – Previous experience preferred. Operate both safely and efficiently.
• Maintain proper clamp pressure and handling requirements.
• Utilize designated clamp pressure by product type to ensure properly handling techniques.
• Demonstrate proper clamp positioning by product type to ensure damage free handling.
• Proper handling of clamp equipment while traveling to ensure loads are raised to the proper height from the ground.
• Proper handling of clamp equipment while traveling with an oversized load.
• Proper handling of clamp equipment when stacking and unstacking product.
• Ensuring slip sheets are properly utilized when stacking to ensure stability.
• Inspect clamps to ensure they are able to be safely operated while maintaining damage free product.

• Ability to work without constant supervision and the ability to think and act independently.
• Ability to use RF scanners
• Ability to safely operate various kinds of material handling equipment (fork lifts, pallet jacks, dock levers, etc.)
• The Labor Grade within this Job Classification is dependent on experience, knowledge, responsibility, performance, dependability and job complexity
• Excellent interpersonal skills.

Your Pay & Benefits

The pay range posted for this position is based on the location noted in the posting title. Exact compensation offered may vary based on your specific skillset and work location. If the position is bonus or incentive eligible then the payments range from 0% to 200% of target with details laid out within the plan document.
