Job summary

Packaging Corporation of America (PCA) is hiring a Clamp Truck Operator for the 3rd shift at our Chicago Container plant located at 5445 W 73rd St. Bedford Park, IL 60638.

You will move products from trucks to staging areas, perform safety inspections, and load/unload trucks while maintaining inventory integrity. Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, manufacturing experience, and the ability to operate a propane-powered forklift.

Qualifications

• Experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Certified industrial driver or ability to get certified in a timely manner.
• Ability to safely operate a propane powered forklift.
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S.

Responsibilities

• Move product from the truck to the staging area safely and efficiently.
• Perform daily safety inspections of the clamp truck and maintain a clean work environment.
• Perform lockout/tag out procedures on trailers.
• Maintain good housekeeping and manufacturing practices at all times.
• Pick and stage orders and load/unload trucks, maintaining inventory integrity.

This job posting is for a Clamp Truck Operator on 3rd shift at our Chicago Container plant located at 5445 W 73rd St. Bedford Park, IL 60638.

Responsibilities

• Ensure that the product is moved from the truck to the staging area in a safe and efficient manner.
• Maintain and perform daily safety inspections of the clamp truck and maintain a clean and safe work environment.
• Perform lockout/tag out procedures on trailers.
• Maintain good housekeeping and manufacturing practices at all times.
• Pick and stage orders and load and unload trucks, while maintaining inventory integrity through proper handling and storage.

Basic Qualifications

• High School Graduate or GED.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Certified industrial driver or ability to get certified in a timely manner.
• Ability to safely operate a propane powered forklift.
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in a packaging environment.

Compensation And Benefits

• Starting salary for position: $29.53 per hour.
• Bonus: Annual – Based upon achievement of plant performance metrics.
• Paid Vacation: 1 weeks per calendar year. Pro-rata Vacation during the initial year of hire based upon start date within the calendar year.
• Paid Holidays.
