Job summary

Smurfit Westrock is seeking a Clamp Truck Operator in Mooresville, NC to handle and move products, operate forklifts, and support packaging operations with a strong safety focus.

Ideal candidates have 3–5 years of material handling experience with forklifts, solid math and data-entry skills, and good communication, organization, and basic computer know-how (Excel/Outlook).

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of material handling with forklift/Clamp truck in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to covert basic math, fractions to decimal, square foot, etc.
• Effective communication skills and excellent coordination skills.
• Great organizational and time management abilities.
• Ability to carry out data entry work
• Basic computer knowledge. Microsoft Office, Excel, Outlook.
• Professional demeanor.

Responsibilities

• Capable of safely and efficiently operating a powered industrial forklift and clamp forklift.
• Perform all required forklift checklists.
• Follow all safety procedures and promote safety programs throughout the facility.
• Support all converting and in-line equipment to ensure accurate, steady supply of WIP and packing supplies.
• Remove completed product from all converting equipment and transfer to designated storage areas.
• Supply Corrugator and Forming machine with raw material.
• Inspect product to ensure tags are in place and accurately identify the material.
• Scan product and place finished product in the bin location.
• Transport product to the staging area.
• Verify truck conditions and safety measures prior to loading trucks.
• Load scrap in bays or truck.
• Read, interpret, and understand all product load tags.
• Minimize product damage through safe handling.
• Inspect finished product to ensure packaging specs are met.
• Ensure all paperwork and system transactions are completed timely and accurately.
• Accurately weigh and thoroughly fill out daily scrap reports.

SUMMARY

The Material Handler is responsible for handling and moving all products as needed for the facility by performing the following key responsibilities.

• Capable of safely and efficiently operating a powered industrial forklift and clamp forklift


• Perform all required forklift checklists.


• Follow all safety procedures and promote safety & safety programs throughout the facility. Support all converting and in-line equipment to ensure accurate, steady supply of WIP and packing supplies.

• Maintain baler during shift.


• Maintain full compliance of all GMPs.


• Maintain housekeeping excellence in accordance with Plant guidelines.


• Participate and ensure department is compliant with YUM! /NFS audit regulations.

What You Need To Succeed

• Preferred 3-5 recent years of material handling with a powered forklift/CLAMP truck experience in a manufacturing environment.


• Ability to covert basic math, fractions to decimal, square foot, etc.


• Effective communication skills and excellent coordination skills.


• Great organizational and time management abilities.


• Ability to carry out data entry work


• Basic computer knowledge. Microsoft Office, Excel, Outlook.
