Job summary

Smurfit Westrock in Mooresville, NC 28115 seeks a Clamp Truck Operator to safely move materials, load trucks, and maintain accurate records. You will perform forklift checks, follow GMPs, and uphold safety standards while supporting packaging operations.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of material handling with powered forklift/Clamp truck experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Basic math skills including fractions to decimal, square footage, etc.
• Effective communication and coordination abilities.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Ability to perform data-entry tasks using basic computer tools.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (Excel/Outlook).

Responsibilities

• Safely operate clamp and powered forklifts.
• Complete forklift checklists and safety steps.
• Follow GMPs and promote adherence to safety programs.
• Support converting and inline equipment to maintain steady material flow.
• Load and transfer finished product to designated staging areas.
• Inspect tags and identify materials accurately.
• Scan products and place finished goods in bin locations.
• Transport products to staging areas and prepare for loading.
• Verify truck conditions and safety measures prior to loading trucks.
• Weigh scrap and complete daily scrap reports before shift end.
• Maintain housekeeping and comply with GMPs and audits.

SUMMARY : The Material Handler is responsible for handling and moving all products as needed for the facility by performing the following key responsibilities.

How you will impact Smurfit Westrock:

• Capable of safely and efficiently operating a powered industrial forklift and clamp forklift
• Perform all required forklift checklists.
• Follow all safety procedures and promote safety & safety programs throughout the facility. Support all converting and in-line equipment to ensure accurate, steady supply of WIP and packing supplies.
• Remove completed product from all converting equipment and transfer to designated storage areas.
• Supply Corrugator and Forming machine with raw material.
• Inspect product to ensure tags are in place and accurately identify the material.
• Scan product and place finished product in the bin location.
• Transport product to the staging area
• Verify truck conditions and safety measures are in place prior to loading trucks.
• Load scrap in bays or truck.
• Read, interpret, and understand all product load tags.
• Minimize product damage through safe and careful handling.
• Inspect finished product to ensure quality packaging specifications are met.
• Ensure all paperwork and system transactions are completed timely and accurately.
• Accurately weigh and thoroughly fill out daily scrap reports and turn in to operator or supervisor prior to shift end.
• Maintain full compliance of all GMPs.
• Maintain housekeeping excellence in accordance with Plant guidelines.
• Participate and ensure department is compliant with YUM! /NFS audit regulations.

What you need to succeed:

• Preferred 3-5 recent years of material handling with a powered forklift/CLAMP truck experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to covert basic math, fractions to decimal, square foot, etc.
• Effective communication skills and excellent coordination skills.
• Great organizational and time management abilities.
• Ability to carry out data entry work
• Basic computer knowledge. Microsoft Office, Excel, Outlook.
