Job summary

Jewelers Mutual Group is seeking a detail-oriented Claims & Survey Coordinator to support the General Agency’s survey and claims functions. You’ll compile survey packages, review reports for accuracy, maintain records, and coordinate with vendors, carriers, adjusters, and internal stakeholders to ensure timely reporting and efficient agency operations.

The role involves handling open-market surveys, tracking requirements, and reconciling invoices across insurer portals, while supporting renewal

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Excel, and Word.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Compile insurance applications for all risks requiring survey into consolidated PDF packages and submit them to survey vendors (e.g., FISK, Premier); manage multiple, overlapping monthly survey cycles as bordereaux are received.
  • Review incoming survey reports for accuracy — confirming the address, policy number, named insured, and location match the application — and return any discrepancies to the vendor for correction.
  • Save completed survey reports in the agency system, retain them for future renewal cycles, and track outstanding reports through to completion.
  • Prepare requirement and recommendation letters from survey reports, send them to insureds, and follow up to confirm requirements are satisfied.
  • Order surveys for open-market business (fine art, jewelers block, JB Select binders, and similar) and coordinate with London and domestic underwriters to obtain any resulting requirements.
  • Verify survey‑vendor invoices against work actually completed, flagging vendor errors so the agency is not charged for them.
  • Log and monitor claims, following up with domestic carriers and adjusters (e.g., Hartford, CNA, Berkeley, Selective, Travelers) for status, payment, and reserve updates.
  • Pull loss runs, claim details, and policy documents from carrier portals; reconcile claims filed directly with carriers and capture claim data to support carrier/loss reporting and producer requests.
