Job summary

Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan is seeking a customer service specialist for workers’ compensation claims. You will support the claims teams, answer inquiries from policyholders, agents, injured workers and attorneys, and assist with evaluation requests across multiple jurisdictions.

This role provides backup to intake and document analysts, with a focus on accurate data entry and timely processing. The position ends at 8:00 pm and requires strong communication and organizational skills.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or G.E.D. required; Associates degree in insurance or related field preferred.
• Minimum of three years general office experience including one year in workers’ compensation insurance.
• Two years of customer service experience answering inquiries over the phone in an insurance organization.

Responsibilities

• Supports the customer service work and processes for the Enterprise claims teams.
• Answers claim inquiries from policyholders, agents, injured workers, attorneys, pharmacies, medical providers for multiple jurisdictions.
• Performs IMEs/AMEs/DDEs/QMEs and other evaluations for the claim file.
• Provides backup to Claims Document Analysts for review and routing of documents.
• Reviews and routes documents in the claim system and updates data fields.
