Job summary

Admiral Insurance Group seeks a Claims Superintendent - CGL, Construction Defect, Long Term Exposure to manage complex coverage analysis, investigations, defense, and reserving for GL claims. You will oversee large-loss reports, supervise adjusters, and drive resolution within regulatory guidelines.

The role requires extensive experience in GL and long-term exposure claims, including construction defect, and offers a competitive compensation package with benefits.

Responsibilities

The Claims Superintendent - CGL, Construction Defect, Long Term Exposure will be responsible for determining and discharging the company's contractual obligations under its various policy contracts involving coverage analysis, investigation, legal defense, and loss and expense reserving. Responsibilities will include intense complex coverage claims handling, coverage analysis, investigation, and management of litigated files.



  • Present facts of claims, with recommendations, to committee as necessary on General Liability claims.

  • Incorporate all claims into company records and review for applicability of coverage.

  • Prepare large loss reports where applicable.

  • Attend and participate in mediations/trials as necessary.

  • Establish appropriate loss and expense reserves. Maintain valid loss and expense reserves based on current investigation and legal discovery.

  • Supervise activities of Independent Adjusters, investigators and defense attorneys to ensure that all claims are appropriately handled.

  • Adhere to company procedures and Best Practice guidelines as well as case and statutory law requirements when coverage is in question, and/or when paying or denying claims.

  • Comply with reporting requirements of treaty and facultative reinsurers.

  • Maintain current understanding of various unfair claim practices statutes.

  • Incorporate all claims into company records and review for applicability of coverage.

  • Participate in broker relations calls/visits as needed.

  • Attend industry related seminar workshops and/or courses for continuing education.

  • Additional tasks as assigned.


Qualifications


  • Bachelor's Degree preferred (or equivalent work experience).


  • 7+ years commercial insurance claims handling experience with specific focus on General Liability and long-term exposure claims; particular emphasis on construction defect.

  • Experience with cost sharing arrangements and MDL preferred.

  • Ability to assess priorities and manage deadlines effectively.

  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.

  • Strong research and analytical skills.

  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite.

  • Up to 20% travel.

The company offers a competitive compensation plan and robust benefits package for full time regular employees which for this role includes: Base Salary Range: $120,000 - $150,000 The actual salary for this position will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role; the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment. Eligible to participate in the annual discretionary bonus program. Benefits: Health, Dental, Vision, Life, Disability, Wellness, Paid Time Off, 401(k) and Profit-Sharing plans.
