Job Overview:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Claims Specialist to join our client and support critical mortgage claims operations. This fully remote, contract position is open to candidates in EST or CST time zones and centers on preparing and submitting loan assignment claims to HUD, ensuring accuracy and compliance throughout the process.

Job Title: Claims Specialist

Job Overview:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Claims Specialist to join our client and support critical mortgage claims operations. This fully remote, contract position is open to candidates in EST or CST time zones and centers on preparing and submitting loan assignment claims to HUD, ensuring accuracy and compliance throughout the process.

Compensation:

• $23.00/hour
  
  

Work Schedule:

• Monday through Friday, standard business hours (EST/CST)
  
  

Key Responsibilities of the Claims Specialist:

• Research and resolve exceptions that prevent loan assignment to HUD
• Review claims and supporting documentation for completeness and compliance with HUD guidelines
• Complete HUD Assignment Checklists and submit final claim packages for approval
• Track and monitor claim status to ensure timely approvals and submissions
• Enter required data into internal loan servicing systems accurately
• Draft reports, correspondence, and documentation related to claims
• Collaborate with supervisors to communicate updates and resolve issues
• Manage deadlines in a high-volume, time-sensitive environment
• Support other related duties and special projects as assigned
  
  

Qualifications and Skills for the Claims Specialist:

• Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent experience (5+ years in a related role)
• Knowledge of HUD regulations; HECM (Home Equity Conversion Mortgage) experience is a plus
• 2–5 years of mortgage Quality Control or claims processing experience
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• High attention to detail and accuracy
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and evolving environment
• Demonstrated reliability and ethical business practices
