Claims Special Investigator - III

What you will do:

  • This position is responsible for handling highly complex claims matters involving issues of concern related to indicators of potential fraud.

  • The primary functions include investigation, evaluation, and negotiation of complex claims.

  • The employee will be required to use discretion and independent judgment to ensure compliance with state and federal law, and with historical company, technical, and customer service Best Practices.

  • The position requires both technical and leadership skills and may involve mentoring and training other personnel.

Qualifications:

  • 4-year college degree or equivalent combination of education and experience required.

  • Evidence of continuing education (i.e. industry designations) desired.

  • Competitive candidates will have 3-5 years of experience handling complex Casualty, PIP/MPC and Property claims.

  • Qualified candidates must be able to identify industry recognized suspicious loss indicators, demonstrate a working knowledge of investigative resources, tools and techniques, and possess above average written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to demonstrate critical thinking skills, customer focus, quality claim handling, resourcefulness, as well as technical/ functional expertise. Advanced Excel or Access skills desired. Special: Continued employment may be contingent upon meeting the requirements necessary to obtain appropriate state(s) mandated licenses. This includes successfully completing all applicable licensing exam(s).

  • Valid driver's license with level of financial responsibility required by the Club and an acceptable motor vehicle record.
