Qualifications

• Three years’ experience in hospital and/or physician billing and collections.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Associate Degree preferred; Certified Revenue Cycle Specialist is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Follows up on unpaid claims and appeals via telephone or web-based claim inquiries.
• Verifies insurance eligibility, corrects claim errors, submits claim reconsiderations, writes appeals.
• Interprets payer denials and reviews medical records to understand the denial.
• Pursues underpaid claims and submits overpayments for refunds, documents variances.
• Maintains established department productivity minimums.
