Job summary

Grange Insurance Company is seeking a seasoned professional to investigate, evaluate, and negotiate settlement of complex PL casualty liability claims to promote retention and uphold service standards.

You will maintain relationships with agents and customers, handle large losses, and coordinate with CAB committee and reinsurance reporting. A college degree and several years of casualty claims experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• College degree preferred plus five (5) years claims experience with at least three (3) years involvement in casualty claims handling preferred.
• Must possess strong communication and organization skills and be proficient with personal computer.
• Demonstrated ability to interact with customers and agents in a professional manner.
• State specific adjusters' license may be required.

Responsibilities

• Investigates, evaluates and adjusts assigned complex liability claims within limit of authority.
• Summarizes cases in excess of authority and submits to managers/specialists for approval.
• Demonstrates technical proficiency for handling complex claims with minimal supervision.
• Maintains positive relationships with internal and external customers and agents.
• Communicates effectively with agents, including face-to-face visits when required.
• Assists other departments with investigations as needed.
• Reports large losses and presents claims to the CAB Committee; ensures reinsurance reporting.

Summary:

What You'll Be Doing:

• Pursuant to Company line of business strategies, statutory regulations and good faith claim settlement practices; investigates, evaluates and adjusts assigned complex liability claims within limit of authority. Summarizes cases in excess of authority and submits to managers/specialists for approval.
• Demonstrates technical proficiency, allowing for the handling of more complex claims with minimal supervision.
• Establishes and maintains positive relationships with both internal and external customers, providing excellent customer service.
• Regular and effective communication with our agents including face-to-face visits when required to assist in building effective working relationships.
• Assist other departments (when required) with investigations.
• Demonstrates effectiveness and efficiencies in handling workload with limited supervision or direction.
• Reports large losses and presents claims to the CAB Committee. Ensures appropriate reinsurance reporting is made on claims.
