Starr Adjustment Services, Inc. is seeking an experienced Construction Defect Claim Manager to join our team in Atlanta or Alpharetta, with alternate locations nationwide.

The role involves handling construction defect claims for Starr insureds across the United States, performing coverage analyses, liability determinations, and reserve evaluations. You will attend mediations and settlements, possibly trials, and collaborate with cross-functional teams including underwriters and reinsurers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required with 7+ years of experience handling Construction Defect claims.
• Strong negotiation and litigation management skills are essential.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Proactive, organized, and able to manage multiple claims and deadlines.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office; travel may be required.

Starr is looking for an experienced construction defect claim manager to join our team.

Preferred Locations: Atlanta or Alpharetta; Alternate Locations: Houston, Chicago, Scottsdale, or Philadelphia.

Responsibilities

• Handle construction defect claims throughout the United States involving Starr insureds.
• Conduct prompt coverage analysis, determination of liability and defenses, investigation of alleged damages, and timely reserve evaluation.
• Attend virtual and in-person mediations and settlement conferences to negotiate cost-effective settlements, and potentially attend trials.
• Interact with profit center leaders, underwriters, actuaries, and reinsurers on trends, developments, and individual claims.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree.
• At least 7 years of experience handling Construction Defect claims.
• Superior negotiation and litigation management skills.
• Strong communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office suite.
• Pro‑active approach.
• Travel may be required and will vary depending on business needs and caseload.
• Insurance adjuster licenses must be obtained where needed. Candidates already broadly licensed are preferred.
