Job summary

National Association of Mutual Insurance Companies - Insurance Company (NAMICO) is seeking a Litigation Examiner in our claims department in Indianapolis, IN. The role handles D&O, ERISA-related, E&O, EPLI, and associated claims, including coverage reviews and strategy development.

You will retain defense counsel, manage budgets, and prepare loss prevention content. Travel and background checks are required; a JD is preferred and proper licensure is expected where applicable.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years experience in personal or commercial insurance claims.
• Experience in litigation management and/or professional liability claims.
• Willingness to travel out of state and occasionally to Canada.
• JD preferred; active state licensing as applicable.
• Knowledge of tort and contract law; strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage an inventory of D&O, Fiduciary, E&O, EPLI, and carrier claims.
• Review coverage, reserves, and liability with strategy for resolution.
• Retain and manage defense and coverage counsel; supervise budgets.
• Maintain diaries, authorize payments, and coordinate expert support.
• Present loss prevention content and participate in SEM/meetings as needed.
• Travel as required; attend mediations, arbitrations, and trials.
