Auto-Owners Insurance is seeking a motivated individual for summer 2027 to join our team as a Claim Representative Intern. This internship offers hands-on experience in investigating facts, determining policy coverage, and evaluating losses while serving agents and policyholders.

The role involves learning insurance policies, processing claims, and possibly attending arbitrations or depositions. Pay starts at $22.00 per hour, with opportunities to develop essential claims-handling skills.

Qualifications

Students must be entering junior or senior year of college.
Above-average written and verbal communication.
Ability to resolve complex issues.
Organize and interpret data.
Ability to handle multiple assignments.
Detail-oriented.

Responsibilities

Investigate and assemble facts, determine policy coverage and evaluate the amount of loss.
Analyze liability and decide on paying or denying losses.
Study insurance policies, endorsements and forms to understand coverage.
Work toward resolution of claims and may attend arbitrations, mediations, depositions or trials when necessary.
Ensure claims payments are issued timely and accurately.
Service the needs of agents, policyholders and others.
Handle investigations by phone, mail and on-site.
