The base salary range for a Claims Intake Coordinator is $33,000 to $41,000. Actual salaries will vary by geographic location and are based on factors such as candidate's qualifications, experience, skills, competencies, and company tenure and equity. In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible for an annual incentive plan based on company performance and individual performance.


Intake Coordinator I Overview


The Intake Coordinator I is responsible for entering new claims into the claims database and assigning claim ownership based on product and work volume. This role scans closed claim files into the corporate imaging system and new mail into Salesforce. This position works under the guidance and oversight of more senior level staff and supervisors


Essential Duties:



  • Processes incoming electronic and paper claim faxes

  • Enters new claims into the claims database

  • Sets up member and verifies eligibility

  • Prepares online mail for scanning into claims database system

  • Performs other scanning for the Claims Department as needed

  • Prepares files for scanning into the corporate imaging system

  • Maintains open and closed claim files

  • Performs other related duties and responsibilities as assigned


Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:



  • Data entry skills

  • Intermediate MS Office skills

  • Ability to complete training in the use of, scanning, verification, research, and data entry

  • Ability to organize workflow for maximum efficiency

  • Ability to type 45 wpm

  • Ability to key 8000 keystrokes per hour


Required Education and Experience:



  • High school diploma or equivalent, or equivalent military experience

  • 1 year of general office or related experience

  • Preferred Education and Experience:

  • Associate degree
