Job summary

Old Republic Title Insurance seeks a Claims Counsel in Tampa to evaluate and resolve title insurance claims nationwide. The attorney will oversee outside counsel, manage coverage analyses, and negotiate settlements while supporting business objectives with sound legal judgment.

Ideal candidates have a J.D., active license, and 3-5 years in real estate, title law, or related practice areas, with strong research and writing skills and a collaborative approach.

Qualifications

• J.D. and active license to practice law.
• 3-5 years of legal experience required.
• Experience in real estate, title insurance or related areas preferred.
• Strong research, negotiation, and writing skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee title insurance claims from notice to final resolution.
• Serve as advisor to insureds, agents, and outside counsel.
• Manage outside counsel, including strategy and budgets.
• Investigate claims and evaluate coverage under policies.
• Negotiate settlements and obtain approvals per guidelines.
• Monitor claim expenses and litigation costs.
• Provide risk analysis to support business objectives.
