Job summary

Exelon is seeking a claims investigator to protect company assets by managing third-party claims, including bodily injury, property damage, and subrogation, with field investigations and evidence gathering in Newark, DE. The role works in a hybrid setup with in-office three days per week and on-call coverage.

You will interview witnesses, prepare reports, support settlements, and coordinate with Legal and Litigation to resolve matters while maintaining thorough documentation and reserves

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business or related field; 2–4 years relevant claims, insurance, investigation, or related utility experience, OR 3–6 years of experience in lieu of degree.

Responsibilities

• Perform, coordinate, and direct field investigations of liability, personal injury, auto and property damage claims; respond to incidents on a 24/7 basis.
• Interview customers/claimants, witnesses, employees, and contractors to obtain facts and preserve evidence; coordinate site inspections.
• Document and manage claims; prepare investigation reports, letters, and case analyses.
• Adjust claims, evaluate damages and liability; negotiate settlements and communicate decisions.
• Cooperate with Legal for litigation support and participate in on-call storm/incident response.
