Overview
Responsible for assisting Examiners in claims administration. The Claims Assistant will identify, prevent, and mitigate potential penalties, as well as deliver 3-point contact.

What You'll Do
- Input data for all new claims.
- Manage indemnity payments and cycles.
- Request and calculate wage statements.
- Identify and mitigate potential penalties.
- Deliver 3-point contact to verify injury details, compensability, and discharge.
- Review DWC letters and input form letters as needed.
- Calculate and process mileage and benefits.
- Verify lost time and waiting periods.
- Manage modified duty and maintain claim diaries.
- Input notes on claims, status, and treatment.
- Support conversion to Indemnity with documentation.
- Refer diagnostics to PRIME for review.
- Process medical bills promptly.
- Investigate questionable claims and refer to examiners.
- Maintain a 100% claim closing ratio.
- Return calls within 24 hours.
- Review mail and bills daily.
- Correct error reports daily.
- Ensure client and claimant satisfaction.
- Handle indemnity payments and wage requests.
- Input DWC letters and process QME reports.
- Draft and mail stipulations, compromise, and release documents.
- Schedule medical appointments and manage related correspondence.
- File and serve necessary documents.
- Complete investigations and service requests.
- Refer PRIME deletions appropriately.
- Complete IMR processes accurately and timely.
- Coordinate with nurses on return-to-work cases.
- Maintain and update work status information.
- Input statutory and delay letters as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
What You'll Need
- At least 1 year of Claims Assistant experience preferred.
- Strong multitasking and communication skills.
- Experience in insurance or workers' compensation claims preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and internet data access.

Compensation: The target salary is $42,000 to $52,000 annually, based on experience, education, and location. Remote work is possible, but residence in California is required.
