Responsibilities

As an Auto Estimator, you will:

1. Collect vehicle information from repair shops or customers and complete initial estimates via photos or in person.
2. Be the first point of contact to meet with insureds, explain coverage, estimate vehicle damage, and assist them through the claims process, providing Remarkable service.
3. Utilize automated estimating systems to prepare repair estimates.
4. Provide technical support to claim handlers on vehicle repair issues.
5. Apply knowledge of market value and other factors affecting reparability issues.
6. Evaluate bid content, photo documentation, vehicle damage, and causation issues.
7. Answer inbound calls and make outbound calls to customers.
8. Provide exceptional customer service throughout the claims process, addressing inquiries and concerns promptly and professionally.
9. Interact with parties who may express strong emotions or concerns about ongoing inspections or claim resolutions.

Where You'll Work

This position is located in Vallejo, CA and surrounding communities, including Midland/Odessa, TX. Candidates should reside within a commutable distance. The team works remotely but may require travel for in-person inspections or to State Farm offices as needed. Candidates may work outside their assigned territory based on business needs.

Hours are flexible and may change, including working overtime or irregular hours.

Qualifications

Candidates must demonstrate:

• Auto collision repair, damage estimating, or auto insurance appraisal experience.
• Excellent customer service, critical thinking, and decision-making skills.
• Strong communication skills.
• Ability to multi-task across platforms.
• Accountability and resourcefulness.
• Physical agility for vehicle damage evaluation.
• A valid driver’s license.

Preferred Skills

• Motor Vehicle Physical Damage Appraiser License.
• Knowledge of CCC One and/or Mitchell.
• I-CAR Platinum Certification.

Additional Details

• Successful completion of required training, licensing, MVRs, and background checks.
• Participation in pre-employment assessments may be required.

• Potential starting salary: $59,059.65 - $82,000 annually, based on experience.
• Yearly incentive pay up to 15% of base salary.
