Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Independently manages shortages, damaged, and transportation claims from start to resolution.
• Reviews vendor charge-backs and recovery efforts to maximize settlements.
• Conducts cross-functional investigations with Accounting, Finance, Legal, and others.
• Manages carrier claims across TL, LTL, Parcel, Ocean and Air.
• Coordinates with carriers to resolve disputes and protect financial interests.
• Maintains complete claim documentation and supports settlement requests.
• Analyzes claim data and 3PL trends to identify improvements.
• Supports inventory recall and rework projects.
• Collaborates with distribution centers and 3PLs to close gaps.
• Provides guidance and training as a departmental resource.

Job Overview

The Claims Analyst II is responsible for managing shortage, damage and transportation claims, coordinating insurance and other settlements including vendor recovery. This position will also assist in continuous improvement of efficiency for claims related activities, while supporting the alignment of processes and practices across all locations while assisting the manager with department projects and initiatives as required and assigned.

Key Responsibilities

• Independently manages shortage, damage, and transportation claims from initiation through resolution, ensuring timely dealer credit issuance, claim settlements, and adherence to KTC guidelines and procedures.
• Manages vendor charge-back claim reviews and recovery efforts, investigating claim validity and maximizing settlement outcomes with vendors and third-party providers.
• Conducts complex cross-functional investigations involving Accounting, Finance, Legal, Warranty, and other business partners to validate reimbursement claims, assess liability exposure, ensure due diligence, and maintain accurate records in support of organizational and regulatory requirements.
• Manages carrier claims across multiple transportation modes, (TL, LTL, Parcel, Ocean, Air)
• coordinating directly with carriers to resolve disputes and protect company financial interests.
• Maintains complete claim documentation and ensures prompt processing of supporting records, investigative findings, and settlement requests.
• Analyze transportation claim data and 3PL performance trends to identify recurring issues, improve reporting visibility, and support operational improvements while maintaining monthly KPI performance charts or graphs to identify improvement areas and best practices.
• Supports inventory recall and rework projects, conducting investigations and coordinating corrective actions to minimize operational disruptions.
• Work directly with KTC distribution centers or 3PLs to quickly close gaps in performance related to freight loading / securement practices. Collaborate on continuous process improvements.
• Served as a departmental resource by providing guidance, training, and operational support, while maintaining readiness to assume higher-level responsibilities as needed.
• Supports special projects, operational initiatives, and cross-functional efforts while maintaining ownership of claims management, reporting, and process improvement activities.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED with a minimum of five (5) years of experience in the claims management industry required.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Supply Chain, or Transportation with a minimum of three (3) years of experience in the claims management industry preferred.
• Claims management training, insurance recovery or settlement practices required.
• Strong knowledge of Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SAP, or equivalent ERP system
• Good writing and communication skills; strong work ethics; analytical skills
• Strong Logistics & transportation knowledge
• Claims Management knowledge, preferably within the Heavy Industry segment
• Customer Service experience
• Experience working with 3PL, carriers and service providers
• Ability to interact with all company departments
• Uses effective oral and written communication skills; delivers information in a clear and concise manner, listens and communicates effectively with others.
