Specialty Program Group (SPG) is the wholesale & MGA division of HUB International (5th Largest Global Broker). SPG acts in a holding company capacity acquiring best in class underwriting businesses to operate independently under discrete brands (portfolio companies).

Job Summary

In this position, you will provide strong technical claim expertise to solve often complex and require extensive multiline expertise and experience. The successful candidate will manage a variety of complex, high value claims across the divisions and provide technical direction and coaching to the various claim operations. They will develop and oversee the resolution of claims and collaborate with and engage external vendors, legal partners and TPA partners. They must also work independently and strategically.

The selected candidates will have the ability to respond to a variety of risk alerts, including but not limited to:

  • CAT Losses & Event Tracking
  • Loss Reserve or Payment exceeding $100K+ (New & Existing Claims)
  • Total Losses (1st Party)
  • Fatalities/Severe Injury/Injured Children (3rd Party)
  • VIP Clients
  • Bad Faith Claims
  • Claims Involving DOI Complaints
  • Claims Alleging a Violation of Any Applicable Unfair Practices and Unfair Competition
  • Overage Disputes

Claims Advocate Role

  • Conduct Monthly Dashboard Analysis
  • Lead monthly update meeting with TPA, Carrier, Wholesaler, MGA, Etc.
  • Create and/or refine Best Practices for assigned TPA or Carrier
  • Conduct quarterly “leakage audit in conjunction with carrier and or TPA
  • Keep key stakeholders informed of significant activities
  • Participate in large, complex claims and coverage issues
  • Complete a monthly activity report for Division heads
  • Conduct relevant training to improve process and technical skills
  • Participate in the implementation of AI, automation, and machine learning
  • Review all coverage denials
  • Receive and review all ROR and Denials
  • Review And Push Carrier for Subrogation and SIU Concerns
  • Provide Executive Summary of Loss Reserves or Payment $100K+
    • Cause
    • Subro Potential
    • Coverage Confirmation
    • Stewardship/Follow Up Gameplan
    • Interact and advocate for VIP clients and key stakeholders

Qualifications

  • 7-10 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Prior experience managing direct reports.
  • Conflict resolution skills and thorough understanding of company policy and procedures.

Preferred Experience

  • CPCU, AIC, ARM or SCLA Designation
  • Graduate Degree

Required Travel: Travel is required (approximately 25%)

Work Location: This position has remote working opportunities.

Disclosure required under applicable state or municipality regulations: The expected salary range for this position is $115,000-$125,000 and will be impacted by factors such as the successful candidate’s skills, experience and working location, as well as the specific position’s business line, scope, and level.
