Job summary

Progressive is seeking a claims adjuster trainee in Colchester, Vermont. This hybrid role combines in-office days with flexible remote days for a 12-month period, after which office attendance varies by business needs.

Training covers property damage, insurance contracts, and claims processing with leadership coaching. As a trainee you will learn to determine coverage and liability, interview customers, and work with appraisers to manage repairs and settle claims by phone in a collaborative team

Qualifications

• Minimum education: High School/GED.
• Three options for qualification: 3 years of work experience OR a Bachelor’s degree OR 2 years of work experience with an Associate degree.

Responsibilities

• Determine coverage.
• Determine liability (who’s at fault for the damages).
• Interview customers, claimants, and witnesses.
• Partner with appraisers/estimators to manage vehicle repairs.
• Negotiate with customers and other insurance carriers and resolve claims.
