Job summary

GPC - Global Professional Consultants is seeking a Civils Site Agent for a flagship Shannon Airport civil works package. The role focuses on overseeing day-to-day site delivery, coordinating engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers to meet safety, time, and quality targets on a major infrastructure project in Ireland.

The successful candidate will have 4+ years in civil site roles, strong leadership and planning skills, and a solid understanding of Irish construction regulations.

Qualifications

  • 4+ years' experience in a Site Agent, Senior Site Engineer, or similar role within civil engineering, infrastructure, or residential development projects.
  • Strong track record delivering civil works packages on residential or infrastructure developments.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, organisational, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong understanding of site operations, construction sequencing, and project programmes.
  • Thorough understanding of Irish construction regulations and health and safety requirements.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and project documentation.
  • Experience with setting out, drainage, roads, utilities, earthworks, and associated civil engineering works.
  • Safe Pass and relevant construction qualifications.
  • Eligible to work in Ireland.
  • Full driving licence.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the delivery of all civil works on Shannon Airport.
  • Oversee day-to-day site operations and coordinate engineers, site management teams, subcontractors, and suppliers.
  • Ensure works are carried out in accordance with project specifications, drawings, method statements, and programme requirements.
  • Monitor project programmes and ensure key milestones and deadlines are achieved.
  • Coordinate labour, plant, materials, and resources to maximise efficiency and productivity.
  • Liaise with the Project Manager, clients, consultants, local authorities, utility providers, and other project stakeholders.
  • Attend site meetings and provide regular progress updates to the Project Manager and senior management.
  • Ensure the highest standards of health and safety are maintained across all site activities.
  • Monitor quality assurance procedures and ensure all works are delivered to specification.
  • Identify site risks and assist in implementing effective mitigation strategies.
  • Resolve technical, operational, and construction issues in a proactive and timely manner.
  • Manage and coordinate subcontractors to ensure works are completed safely, efficiently, and to programme.
  • Mentor and support site engineers and site teams to ensure successful project delivery.

A Civils Site Agent is required for a well-established civil engineering contractor delivering the full civil works package on Shannon Airport, Co. Clare. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Civils Site Agent to join a growing company and play a key role in the delivery of a flagship project from construction through to completion. The successful candidate will have a strong background in civil engineering and residential infrastructure projects and will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day delivery of all civil works, ensuring the project is completed safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Requirements

Strong understanding of site operations, construction sequencing, and project programmes. Thorough understanding of Irish construction regulations and health and safety requirements. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and project documentation. Experience with setting out, drainage, roads, utilities, earthworks, and associated civil engineering works. Degree or higher qualification in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline. Safe Pass and relevant construction qualifications. Eligible to work in Ireland. Full driving licence.

Salary and Benefits
  • Salary circa €70k€80k depending on experience.
