Job summary

Valdes Engineering Co in Lombard, IL seeks a Civil Designer with five or more years of Civil 3D experience to support design across site development, grading, drainage, utilities, and roadways. The role may require occasional field visits to verify conditions and gather project requirements.

You will produce civil deliverables, mentor junior staff, coordinate with other disciplines, and ensure drawings meet DOT, AASHTO, MUTCD, and NPDES standards.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of civil design experience using Civil 3D.
• Experience drafting site development plans, grading, drainage, utilities.
• Ability to work with multiple disciplines and meet standards.
• Must be able to work in the US without sponsorship now or in the future.

Responsibilities

• Perform technical responsibilities required of a Civil Designer.
• Demonstrate expertise in using Autodesk Civil 3D.
• Mentor less experienced designers and technicians.
• Prepare civil scopes of work and material take-offs.
• Prepare and understand plan sets for site development, grading, drainage, utilities, roadways.
• Experience developing grading plans, utility plans, profiles, and construction documents.
• Familiarity with local, state, and federal design standards and permitting requirements.
• Coordinate project activities between Civil and other disciplines.
• Perform field walkdowns without assistance with a project team.
• Support CAD audits.
