Job summary

Ulteig is seeking Civil/Transportation Engineering Interns to support surface transportation and infrastructure teams. The internship offers hands-on experience across design, planning, traffic engineering, construction observation, and field assignments.

You will work with engineers, designers, planners, and project managers on real projects, gaining exposure to municipal street improvements, bridge projects, and corridor studies while developing technical and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Transportation Engineering, Construction Engineering, or related field.
• Willingness to work in both office and field environments.
• Must be able to work full-time during Summer 2027.
• Permanent authorization to work in the U.S.

Responsibilities

• Support civil, roadway, transportation, traffic, and municipal infrastructure projects under the guidance of experienced professionals.
• Assist with the preparation of engineering plans, drawings, exhibits, reports, technical memoranda, specifications, and other project deliverables.
• Support design activities involving roadway geometry, grading, drainage, erosion control, traffic control, pavement markings, signing, utilities, street lighting, and other infrastructure improvements.
• Perform basic engineering calculations, research, data analysis, quantity calculations, and cost-estimate support.
• Assist with transportation planning, traffic studies, operational analyses, data collection, and existing-condition evaluations.
• Use industry-standard engineering, drafting, transportation, and GIS software to develop plans, maps, figures, exhibits, and other technical materials.
• Review applicable state, municipal, agency, and project-specific standards and assist with incorporating requirements into project deliverables.
