Betacom is seeking a Civil Technician for site civil construction in Indian Trail, NC. Under supervision you will perform hands-on tasks in accordance with the scope of work and construction documents, observe OSHA standards, and operate power tools as needed.

You may work alone or with a crew, completing prep, grounding, trenching, conduit installation, and landscaping, while maintaining a clean site and complying with safety policies.

Qualificações

• OSHA safety courses are required.
• One year certificate from college or technical school, or 3–6 months related experience.
• Clean driving record and valid driver's license; reliable transportation.

About this position

OVERVIEW:

Under direct or indirect supervision, the Civil Tech is responsible for hands on site civil construction in accordance with the given scope of work and available construction documents. They are expected to know and comply with OSHA standards at all times, and are encouraged to seek opportunities to improve and expand their skill set. They may work alone or with a crew and may be expected to operate power tools and light equipment in the performance of their job.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Performs various construction activities, including, but not limited to site preparation, installation and grounding of equipment, demolition work, landscaping, fencing, facilities maintenance and repairObserves all Betacom safety policies and procedures as related to job safety, equipment safety and personnel protective equipment (PPE)Performs preoperational safety checks on equipment and vehicles prior to use, maintain all tools, equipment, and vehicles in proper working condition.Completes time sheets and mileage reports, reviews time sheets for accuracy and completenessInstalls, connects, and tests underground and above ground grounding systemsPerforms concrete forming, pouring, and finishingPerforms light carpentry workPerforms landscaping, grading, and fence building (with or without powered equipment)Performs trenching, excavating, filling ditchesPerforms running underground or above ground conduitInventories, loads, unloads, identifies, and distributes materials to appropriate location according to the Crew Leader’s direction.Performs various construction activities, including, but not limited to excavation, underground utility installation, rebar fabrication and tying, concrete forming, placement and finishing, ice bridge installation, installation and grounding of equipment, site prep work including small scale grading and placement ofground cover, landscaping, and facilities maintenance and repair such as doors, coax ports, cable trays etc. in shelter sites.Performs demolition work to include cabinet and conduit/wiring removal, concrete demolition and removal, ice bridge demolition and removal, adding fill dirt and stone or other materials to bring landscape back to grade after demolitionPerforms light industrial steel installations, (Ice Bridge, H-Frames, Equipment Racks, etc.)Maintains clean worksite and professional attitude and demeanor as a representative of Betacom Incorporated.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

• Working knowledge of basic hand tools, mechanical equipment, and electro-mechanical equipment.Basic computer skills (Word, Excel, Outlook)Self-motivated and able to learn quickly.Ability to lift over 70 pounds.Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Good communication skills, reading and writing skills (English)OSHA safety coursesOne year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.Clean Driving Record & Valid Driver's License (a must) and reliable transportation to and from work.Must be able to accommodate out of town travel, if required.
