This hands-on role offers a comprehensive opportunity to build a career across the entire spectrum of telecommunications infrastructure, including Outside Plant (OSP) fiber networks, Small Cell nodes, and Macro cell tower sites.

You will work outdoors as part of a field crew responsible for the initial civil excavation, placement, and ongoing physical maintenance of critical connectivity networks. No prior telecommunications experience is required—we provide complete, paid on-the-job training for all civil, utility, and wireless operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Trenching & Excavation: Safely utilize hand tools, shovels, and jackhammers to dig trenches, pothole existing utilities, and clear pathways for underground telecom infrastructure.
  • Conduit & Fiber Placement: Assist with placing PVC conduit, pulling sub-duct, pulling fiber-optic cables, and setting handholes/pull-boxes in the public right-of-way (ROW).
  • Surface Restoration: Pour and finish concrete or lay asphalt to repair sidewalks, curbs, and roadways following utility excavations. Perform landscaping restoration (sod, topsoil) to return properties to original conditions.
Wireless Infrastructure Support (Small Cell & Macro Sites)
  • New Build Deployments: Assist crews with assembling and erecting utility poles, shroud enclosures, antenna brackets, and heavy equipment cabinets for both small cell nodes and macro tower compounds.

  • Logistics & Material Handling: Load and unload construction materials, steel framing, conduit, and heavy hardware from trailers and utility trucks.
Safety & Traffic Control
  • Jobsite Safety: Set up traffic cones, warning signs, and pedestrian barricades according to approved traffic control plans. Act as a flagger to ensure crew safety on busy public roadways.
Additional Duties
  • Operational Flexibility: Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the manager or field supervisor to support evolving project needs.

  • Licensing: Must possess a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record and have reliable transportation to the dispatch yard.
