Ontivity is seeking a Civil Technician to join a growing team performing field construction and maintenance tasks. The role involves physical labor, operating tools and heavy equipment, and assisting with loading/unloading equipment onto trailers.

The candidate should be willing to travel extensively, work long hours including weekends, and thrive in a non-structured schedule. OSHA/First Aid certifications are valued, and a valid driver’s license is required.

Competenze

• General construction knowledge and experience with equipment.
• Ability to travel and work long hours.
• Must have valid driver’s license; CDL-A a plus.
• Preferred experience in tower construction and microwave installations.
• Physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and working in varied weather.

Civil Technician

Company Overview:

Ontivity is actively looking to add new members to our exciting and growing Team. We are currently seeking a Civil Technician. We would prefer experience in Tower Construction, Antenna and Line Installations, Microwave Installations, and Tower Modifications. Essential Functions / Responsibilities:

• Perform physical labor; operate other powered and hand-operated tools in support of work activities, including tampers, compressors, generators, saws, pumps, shovels, hammers, wrenches, etc…
• Operate heavy equipment
• Assist in loading and unloading equipment onto trailers
• Inspect, maintain, and clean equipment before, during, and after operation in accordance with the operator’s manual and other inspection and preventive maintenance requirements.
• Establish and maintain communications and a strong safety culture with others in your work area

• Must be willing to travel and be able to work within a non-structured schedule, i.e., long hours, weekends, etc.

Supervisory Responsibility

A Civil Hand does not have any supervisory responsibility.

Work Environment & Physical Demands

The physical demands and work environment described are representative of those that must be met by an employee to perform the essential functions of this job.

• Frequent work in adverse weather conditions
• Frequently required to stand, walk, stoop, sit, and climb ladders and communication towers
• Use hands to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls and reach with hands and arms.
• On a constant basis, employee must lift, carry, and maneuver heavy or awkward objects weighing 50lbs or more.
• Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
• Daily travel within the Company’s geographical footprint and possible extended stays at external destinations. Travel time can be anywhere from three to six weeks at a time, with appropriate breaks.
• Frequently required to use hand and power tools

Required Knowledge:

• General construction knowledge to include knowledge of construction equipment/machinery
• Mechanically inclined
• Electrical/electronics education a plus
• Basic Rigging
• Must have complete knowledge on use and care of basic hand tools and power tools
• Must have valid Driver’s License and the ability to obtain a DOT physical certification. CDL Class A certification a plus.

Job Related Certifications:

• OSHA 10 or 30
• First Aid/CPR
• Basic Rigging
• Basic knowledge and understanding of DOT driver qualifications
