Job summary

Mortenson is seeking a Survey Project Specialist to plan, coordinate, and support survey activities across assigned projects, including design phase coordination, preconstruction/site setup, drone operations, and documentation. The role emphasizes mentorship of survey team members and maintaining safety, quality, and client service in line with Mortenson’s values.

Responsibilities include coordinating design phase surveys, supporting preconstruction and site setup, acting as a primary drone

Qualifications

• Associate or bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent survey experience.
• Minimum five years of survey experience.
• Professional Land Surveyor license not required.
• Current driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate design phase survey planning, control point layout, EOR/third-party coordination, and site visits.
• Support preconstruction/site setup activities including VDC coordination and handoff to field crews.
• Maintain survey documentation, IWPs, and check-in documentation with senior staff.
• Serve as primary drone resource: flight planning, data processing, and training.
• Ensure safety, quality, and customer service in line with Mortenson’s values.
