Kiewit is seeking a Civil Superintendent to lead field operations on heavy civil and highway projects. You will supervise crews, coordinate subcontractors, and drive safety, quality, and schedule adherence in diverse sites across Texas and the region.

The role requires strong leadership, clear communication, and the ability to relocate as needed to support project needs while fostering a Zero Harm safety culture and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in construction management or related field preferred.
• High school diploma required.
• 5+ years in heavy civil construction with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
• Strong knowledge of grading, excavation, paving, and bridge construction.
• Proven ability to lead crews and manage subcontractors effectively.

Responsibilities

Position Overview

The Civil Superintendent is responsible for managing and supervising all field operations on heavy civil and highway construction projects. This role ensures that work is executed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with project specifications and schedules. The Civil Superintendent serves as the primary leader in the field, coordinating crews, subcontractors, and resources to deliver high-quality results while fostering a culture of safety and teamwork.

District Overview

Kiewit's South Central District is one of Kiewit's leading infrastructure districts specializing in highway and heavy civil construction including grading, excavating, trenching, bridge construction, concrete, asphalt paving, and more. Although most of our work is regionally based in the south-central region of the United States, we also pursue various projects stretching across the United States. We are looking for individuals who are passionate about infrastructure and committed to the construction industry as opposed to design.

Location

Kiewit's South Central District has a home office in Westlake, Texas but leads work all over Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Mississippi, and Louisiana. Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma required; bachelor’s degree in construction management or related field preferred.
• Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in heavy civil construction, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
• Strong knowledge of grading, excavation, paving, and bridge construction.
• Proven ability to lead crews and manage subcontractors effectively.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to travel and relocate based on project needs.
