Wells Engineering seeks a Civil/Structural Engineering Intern to gain hands-on experience across quality control, field services, and design within the Wells Engineering Development Program. You will rotate through multiple areas, working with Professional Engineers and field leaders to develop technical skills and identify a long-term career path in engineering.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in civil/structural engineering.
• Strong interest in precast concrete, structural design, and construction operations.
• Ability to learn technical systems and field processes quickly.

Responsibilities

• Shadow Quality Control technicians and plant inspection activities.
• Perform concrete testing in laboratory environments.
• Learn and use Concrete Vision (CV) or similar production tracking systems.
• Conduct pre-pour inspections including formwork checks and readiness verification.
• Gain exposure to mix designs, finishes, NCRs, and quality metrics.
• Pour and evaluate concrete samples for testing and documentation.
• Support root cause analysis and continuous improvement using NCR data.
• Shadow field supervisors and assist with layout and jobsite coordination.
• Interpret blueprints and communicate work plans to field crews.
• Assist with survey and layout equipment to verify alignment and installation accuracy.
