Job summary

Valmont Industries in Tuscaloosa, AL is seeking a Civil/Structural Engineering Intern to join the Global Utility Division. You will work with the Concrete Design Engineering team on meaningful projects, gaining hands-on experience and mentoring from industry leaders.

Responsibilities include assisting design criteria, collaborating with manufacturing and engineering teams, and applying design knowledge to manufacturability.

Qualifications

• Rising junior or senior pursuing Civil, Structural, or Mechanical engineering in an ABET-accredited program.
• CAD skills and ability to convert drawings to 3D models.
• Proficiency with Word, Excel and PowerPoint; strong communication abilities.
• Interest in reinforced concrete design and concrete testing is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Actively participate and recommend changes in design criteria and drafting procedures.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing, Procurement, Service, QA and Engineering Services teams.
• Apply design knowledge to consider manufacturability of final designs.
