Our engineers reverse engineer and look for the “why” when things fail. Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities

• Conduct field investigations and analyze failures involving all types of structures and construction problems including residential, commercial and industrial properties.
• Determine the cause, origin, and extent of structural failures, water intrusions, construction defects and building system failures including envelope, roof, wall and glazing.
• Assignments may include foundation settlement investigations, structural assessments, site evaluations, sub‑surface investigations, vibration analysis, construction site accidents and building egress accident evaluations.
• Analyze failures in buildings and other infrastructure systems by conducting site visits and applying engineering principles and practices in accordance with codes and industry standards.
• Conduct unbiased investigations for various types of clients.
• Responsible for retention and development of client relations.
• Prepare oral and written reports in layman’s terms that document causes of failure, extent of loss, and recommended remediation.
• Deliver professional presentations, develop client relationships and promote self to client groups.
• Ability to support conclusions by appropriate expert testimony in legal proceedings.
• Ability to accept and integrate constructive feedback into job performance.
• Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks and participating in professional societies.

Position Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering required; Master’s degree a plus.
• Three to five years of civil/structural experience.
• P.E. (Professional Engineer) registration required through testing or ability to obtain within six months.
• Must possess strong writing skills.
• Public speaking experience a plus.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
