Job summary

Casper, Phillips & Associates is seeking a Civil/Structural Engineer (PE) with 4+ years of experience to join our team in Tacoma. You will design and review structures from concept through construction, and support a multi-discipline group of engineers.

You will also maintain client relationships, develop proposals, and mentor junior staff, while working on bolted and welded connections and complex steel projects in a collaborative US-based environment.

Qualifications

• US Civil PE License (Any state acceptable) and US work authorization.
• Knowledge of ASCE, AISC and IBC codes.
• Experience designing bolted and welded connections.
• Experience with Finite Element Analysis.
• Experience designing complex steel structures.
• Must be able to work in the United States; visa sponsorship not available.

Responsibilities

Civil/Structural Engineer (4+ Years with PE)

Full time civil/structural engineer. Responsibilities include working with a multi-discipline team of engineers with the design and review of structures from concept through construction. This role may involve any of the following tasks; design review, finite element analysis, connection design, 3D/2D drafting, construction support, and/or developing specifications.

Other responsibilities include maintaining client relationships, developing proposals, and mentoring younger engineers.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications

• US Civil PE License (Any state is acceptable)
• Knowledge of ASCE, AISC and IBC codes
• Experience designing bolted and welded connections
• Experience with Finite Element Analysis
• Experience Designing Complex Steel Structures
• Must be able to work in the United States. This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications

• US Structural SE License
• Master of Science or Master of Engineering
• PhD in Civil/Structural Engineering
• SAP2000 Experience Experience with Non-Linear Time History FEA Analysis
• Knowledge of IEBC code
• Experience with Cranes, Marine Structures, or Off-shore Structures
• Experience with ASCE 61
• Familiarity with CMAA, AIST, and/or FEM standards and Codes

Compensation

$90,000 - $125,000
