Job summary

gpac is seeking a Structural Design Engineer to join our team in Georgia. The role covers complete project phases from initial concept through construction support, designing structures for diverse facilities.

You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to produce efficient, code-compliant designs and deliverables while mentoring junior staff. The ideal candidate has a structural engineering background with 4+ years of experience and proficiency in common analysis and design software.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with a structural emphasis
• PE license preferred or ability to obtain licensure
• 4+ years structural engineering experience
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, RAM Structural System, RISA, STAAD.Pro, ETABS
• Strong knowledge of IBC, ASCE 7, ACI, AISC, NDS
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects with accuracy

Responsibilities

• Design structural systems for commercial, industrial, municipal, and institutional projects.
• Prepare calculations, reports, specifications, and construction documents.
• Develop designs using steel, concrete, wood, and masonry.
• Perform structural analysis with standard software.
• Coordinate with architects, engineers, contractors, and PMs.
• Review shop drawings and RFIs; provide construction-phase support.
• Conduct occasional field visits to verify conditions.

Position Overview

We are seeking a Structural Design Engineer to join our growing team. Key Responsibilities

• Design structural systems for commercial, industrial, municipal, and institutional projects.
• Prepare structural calculations, engineering reports, specifications, and construction documents.
• Develop designs utilizing steel, reinforced concrete, wood, and masonry construction.
• Perform structural analysis using industry-standard engineering software.
• Coordinate with architects, civil engineers, contractors, and project managers throughout the design process.
• Review shop drawings, respond to contractor requests for information (RFIs), and provide construction-phase support.
• Conduct occasional field visits to verify existing conditions and observe construction progress.
• Ensure designs comply with applicable building codes, industry standards, and client requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with a Structural emphasis or Structural Engineering.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred or ability to obtain licensure.
• 4+ years of structural engineering experience preferred.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, and structural analysis software such as RAM Structural System, RISA, STAAD.Pro, ETABS, or similar programs.
• Strong understanding of IBC, ASCE 7, ACI, AISC, NDS, and other applicable design standards.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
