Job summary

Insight Global in Indianapolis, IN, is seeking a civil engineer with 2–4 years of site development experience to produce land development plans and drainage designs onsite. The role operates Mon-Fri, 8am-5pm, onsite.

You will perform hydrologic/hydraulic analyses, prepare calculations, models, reports, and bid packages, and coordinate with PMs and multi-disciplinary teams throughout construction.

Location: Indianapolis, IN 46268

Schedule: Onsite; 5 days per week (Mon - Fri)

Hours: 8am - 5pm EST

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and produce civil engineering construction plans for land development projects, including site design, grading, utility layouts, drainage systems, erosion prevention measures, stormwater facilities, and roadway/pavement improvements.
• Collaborate with project managers and multidisciplinary teams to deliver design solutions for a wide range of developments such as educational facilities, commercial properties, industrial sites, structured parking, and residential communities.
• Perform hydrologic and hydraulic analyses and prepare supporting calculations, models, reports, and spreadsheets.
• Contribute to the design and planning of site infrastructure, including stormwater management systems, utility networks, and earthwork grading plans.
• Prepare technical documentation and bid packages for construction and permitting efforts.
• Author engineering memorandums, reports, and other project-related documentation.
• Provide technical assistance throughout the construction phase, responding to design questions and supporting successful project execution.

Qualifications

• Approximately 2-4 years of experience in civil site development, stormwater engineering, municipal utilities, or water/wastewater infrastructure projects.
• Hands-on experience with drainage design, hydraulic modeling, and related engineering calculations.
• Ability to analyze project requirements, evaluate alternatives, and develop compliant engineering solutions with minimal supervision.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple assignments and meet project schedules and client expectations.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams and disciplines.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD and Civil 3D design software is preferred.

Education & Credentials

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Landscape Architecture, or a closely related field.
• Ability and desire to pursue professional engineering licensure/registration.
