Job summary

gpac is seeking a Structural Design Engineer to join our collaborative team in Atlanta, GA. You will participate in all phases of structural projects from preliminary design through construction support, delivering practical and efficient designs aligned with client objectives.

The ideal candidate has 4+ years in structural engineering, familiarity with AutoCAD, Revit, RAM, RISA, STAAD.Pro, ETABS, and a solid grasp of IBC and ASCE 7. PE license preferred or licensure pursuit.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with a Structural emphasis or Structural Engineering.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred or ability to obtain licensure.
  • 4+ years of structural engineering experience preferred.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, and structural analysis software such as RAM Structural System, RISA, STAAD.Pro, ETABS, or similar programs.
  • Strong understanding of IBC, ASCE 7, ACI, AISC, NDS, and other applicable design standards.

Responsibilities

  • Design structural systems for commercial, industrial, municipal, and institutional projects.
  • Prepare structural calculations, engineering reports, specifications, and construction documents.
  • Develop designs utilizing steel, reinforced concrete, wood, and masonry construction.
  • Perform structural analysis using industry-standard engineering software.
  • Coordinate with architects, civil engineers, contractors, and project managers throughout the design process.
  • Review shop drawings, respond to RFIs, and provide construction-phase support.
  • Conduct occasional field visits to verify existing conditions and observe construction progress.
  • Ensure designs comply with applicable building codes, industry standards, and client requirements.
