Job summary

PERC Engineering in Lafayette, LA is seeking a Civil & Structural Drafter to join our in-office team. You will prepare detailed civil and structural drawings using AutoCAD, collaborating with engineers and project managers on infrastructure projects.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years of drafting experience, an associate degree or technical certification, and a strong grasp of drafting standards. Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple drawings are essential.

Job description

This is a Lafayette, LA based full-time, in-office position. We are seeking a detail-oriented Civil & Structural Drafter to join our engineering team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate civil and structural construction drawings using AutoCAD. This position offers the opportunity to work on a variety of infrastructure and structural projects in a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed civil and structural drawings, plans, and layouts using AutoCAD.
• Develop construction documents from engineering sketches, markups, and design calculations.
• Revise and update drawings based on engineer and client comments.
• Coordinate with engineers and project managers to ensure drawing accuracy and project deadlines are met.
• Maintain drawing standards and project documentation.
• Assist with quantity takeoffs and drawing organization as needed.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in AutoCAD, including structural drafting.
• Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D is a strong plus.
• Associate degree or technical certification in Drafting, Engineering Technology, or a related field preferred.
• 2+ years of civil and/or structural drafting experience preferred.
• Strong understanding of construction drawings, drafting standards, and engineering terminology.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with structural steel and concrete detailing.
• Familiarity with grading, site development, utility, or roadway plans.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
