Job description

Will work on a wide range of projects developing both 2D and 3D engineering drawings and models for structural steel and concrete foundation projects.

Projects are all industrial, so anyone with millwork or material handling project experience will be suitable.

The position requires AutoCAD experience, with a preference for experience using AutoCAD Plant and Advance Steel.

• Senior-level candidate who can prepare and check foundations and structural steel drawings.
• Demonstrated experience as a civil/structural design leader.
• Will lead the civil/structural design efforts.
• Must be extremely thorough and able/willing to check the design drawings against other discipline drawings, vendor drawings, and all other pertinent documents.
• Proficient in AutoCAD 2D, with 3D experience; Advance Steel experience is beneficial.
• Experienced in civil/structural design in heavy industrial and commercial fields.

Responsibilities:

• Initiates engineering drawings in conformance with the project requirements with little supervision.
• Prepares and checks complete designs including plans, elevations, sections, and details.
• Reviews drawings supplied by vendors, clients, and other disciplines that affect the civil/structural design.
• Conducts field investigations to obtain information to support the project needs.
• Oversees the civil/structural design effort on assigned projects.
• Responsible for maintaining project schedules and budgets for civil/structural design.
