Job summary

H+M Industrial EPC in Pasadena, TX is seeking a Civil Structural Designer to join Engineering. You will develop civil/structural 3D models and 2D extractions using AutoCAD and CADWorx for heavy industrial projects.

The role requires a minimum of 7 years of AutoCAD/CADWorx experience, field walks to define scope, and collaboration with other disciplines to produce integrated design packages while upholding safety and OSHA standards. Occasional site visits may be required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 7 years of AutoCAD and/or CADWorx experience in heavy industrial projects.
• Experience utilizing 3D laser scans (Leica Jetstream) as a modeling tool.
• Ability to perform job walks to define civil/structural scope with minimal supervision.
• Knowledge of standard design and drafting practices.
• Experience with AISC detailing, ACI and PIP.
• Know/experience with Bluebeam for checking and redlining drawings.

Responsibilities

• Ensure design compliance with client and company specs, codes, safety and OSHA regulations.
• Develop civil/structural 3D models and 2D extractions using AutoCAD and CADWorx.
• Prepare material specifications reflected on drawings for purchase, fabrication and construction.
• Perform field data collection and verify designs for ties-ins and clearances.
• Provide field support during construction.
• Check and back-check drawings produced by drafting staff.
• Collaborate with other disciplines to create multi-discipline design packages.
• Work with client to resolve problems.
• Follow company policies and safety manual.
