Job summary

GBA is seeking a Civil Site Engineer Intern to support drawings, calculations and technical reports under supervision in Lenexa, KS and Austin. You will assist in design layouts and construction documents for transportation and bridge projects.

You will conduct field investigations, collect measurements, document site conditions, and prepare technical reports. Strong communication and analytical skills are essential as you pursue a Civil Engineering degree with at least two years of study.

Qualifications

• Pursuing BS or MS in Civil Engineering from an accredited program.
• GPA 3.0+ strongly preferred.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD and Excel preferred.
• Two years of college coursework completed.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing engineering drawings, design layouts and construction documents.
• Perform basic engineering calculations for grading, drainage and utilities.

Job Civil Site Engineer Intern Location Lenexa KS and Austin Build Your Career with GBAThe Civil Engineer Site Development Intern is responsible for assisting in the development of engineering drawings calculations and technical reports under supervision while conducting research and field investigations to support project needs This role provides design analysis and documentation support to project engineers ensuring all work complies with established engineering standards and specific project requirements

What Youll Do

• Assist in preparing engineering drawings design layouts and construction documents

What Youll Bring

• Pursuing BS or MS in Civil Engineering or other related field from accredited program
• Experience with AutoCAD and Excel software is preferred
• Experience with transportation and bridge related projects or internships is preferred
• 27 GPA strongly preferred
• Finished at least two years of school
• Prior Internship is andor related experience is a plus
• Involved in campus community and other volunteer activities and or organization
• Strong communication skills both oral and written
• Excellent problem solving and analytical skills

Physical Requirements & Work Environment

• Ability to sit stand walk around the office for extended periods
• Ability to lift up to 10 pounds
• Travel
• Ability to travel as needed based on job level and expertise for project site & field visits conferences training and professional outings
• Occasional day trips or overnight travel may be required including other GBA offices
• Must maintain a valid drivers license and an insurable driving record under the companys insurance carrier requirements to operate or rent vehicles for business purposes
