Job summary

Weston & Sampson Engineers Inc. seeks a Civil/Site Engineer with 3–6 years of experience for the Suffern, New York office, joining our Water group.

You will work on land development, water resources, and municipal projects, designing site plans, grading, drainage, and utilities, with reporting on drainage and sanitary systems. You will support hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, review municipal plans, and perform occasional field inspections while collaborating with multiple staff across

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil/Environmental Engineering.
• Experience with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, GIS.
• Experience or interest in HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, and HydroCAD.
• This is a PE track position; PE or EIT is preferred.
• Strong writing and verbal communications skills.
• Valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Work on land development, water resources, and municipal projects.

Job description

Weston & Sampson is currently seeking a Civil/Site Engineer with 3 to 6 years of experience to work with our Water group in our Suffern, New York office location.

What you'll do:

• Work on a combination of land development, water resources, and municipal projects.
• Land development project responsibilities will include design of site plans including layout, grading, erosion control, drainage and utilities. Will prepare design reports for drainage, water supply and sanitary sewer. Will comply with local municipal codes. Will make submissions to municipalities and respond to review comments.
• Water resources projects will include stormwater management designs to support land development projects. Projects will also include flood mitigation plans. Work involves hydrologic and hydraulic modeling of watercourses, lakes/ponds, and dams.
• Municipal engineering work will include review of plans for proposed private projects, and design and inspections for ongoing municipal projects.
• Will be working in an engaging and supportive work environment.
• Will be working on multiple projects managing technical, budgetary and communication responsibilities.
• Will work well with multiple staff members in Suffern office as well as staff at other Weston & Sampson offices.
• Perform field and inspection work periodically.
