Job summary

Pennoni is seeking an experienced Division Manager to lead our Site/Civil team in Raleigh/Charlotte and oversee multi-discipline site design projects. You will manage a team of engineers and designers, develop client relationships, and interface with municipalities when needed.

The role includes budgets, proposals, and overseeing permit applications, with emphasis on H&H modeling and stormwater design. Reports to the Raleigh Office Director and supports a dynamic, collaborative team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Civil preferred).
• Professional Engineer in the State of North Carolina.
• Experience managing staff and clients.
• Proficiency with engineering tools (CADD, project management software); AutoCAD Civil 3D strongly preferred.
• Experience with stormwater management design calculations and H&H modeling.

Job description

Pennoni is seeking an experienced professional to lead our Site/Civil team as aDivision Managerand lead our multi-discipline site design projects on a full-time, direct basis in Raleigh/Charlotte. This person will have the opportunity to work on a variety of private & public site development projects across various markets.

Primary Responsibilities

• Manage a team of engineers and designers
• Develop and maintain client relationships
• Manage all aspects of project efforts and interface with clients; this includes making presentations to clients & municipalities (when necessary).
• Prepare budgets and proposals
• Supervise and perform site development & design tasks: plan preparation, grading, permit applications (including NCDOT and Water Management Districts), report writing, etc.
• Contribute to stormwater management design: Hydrologic and Hydraulic (H&H) modeling, Erosion and Sediment Control (E&SC) planning, etc.
• Engage with regulatory agencies.
• Assist with RFQ responses.
• Provide quality control of staff design & reports.
• Additional duties may be assigned, as needed.
• Reports to Raleigh Office Director

Basic Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering-oriented discipline (preferably Civil Engineering).
• Professional Engineer in the State of North Carolina
• Experience managing staff and clients

Preferred Qualifications

• Proficiency with engineering tools (e.g.: CADD, project management software, etc.); expertise with AutoCAD Civil 3D strongly preferred!
• Experience with stormwater management (SWM) design calculations, especially while utilizing H&H modeling tools.
• Proficiency on standard office software applications: Microsoft Office 365 (especially Word, Excel, and Outlook), Adobe Acrobat, etc.
• Proven ability to look at the "Big Picture" as well the project goals in order to coordinate various design disciplines accordingly.
• Proven ability to work in an energetic & challenging team environment as a collaborativeTeam Player, especially while maintaining the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Proven ability to demonstrate problem-solving skills, especially when working on a variety of projects while providing solutions to difficult issues.
