Qualifications

• Advanced knowledge in civil rights law and practice.
• Expertise in legal research, analysis, and advocacy strategy development.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with all levels of staff and influence, both verbally and in writing.

Responsibilities

• Supports Center cases and projects at the direction of the Executive Director.
• Conducts legal research and writing on civil rights cases and policy projects.
• Drafts and files amicus briefs, motions and other materials.
• Mentors student interns and manages projects.
• Liaises with coalition partners to meet deadlines.
• Files amicus briefs and prepares advice memos or training materials.
• Supports information gathering to move litigation or policy forward.
• Assists with case investigation and development.
• Reviews legislation and analyzes options; makes court appearances as needed.
