Job summary

The Delaware Department of Justice, Civil Rights & Public Trust Division, seeks a Special Investigator to conduct investigations into civil rights violations, public corruption, and related matters. You will work under the Chief Special Investigator, preparing investigations and reports.

Collaborate with Deputy Attorneys General and other agencies to advance the division’s mission. Five years of law enforcement experience and POST certification are required; travel may be expected.

Qualifications

• Five years of law enforcement experience required.
• Ability to investigate complex and difficult cases.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills required.
• POST certification is required.
• Familiarity with criminal and civil investigation procedures.

Responsibilities

• Conduct investigations, interview witnesses, gather and document evidence.
• Prepare comprehensive investigative reports for Deputy Attorneys General.
• Testify in court or before a Grand Jury when required.
• Collaborate with federal, state, and local partners to advance investigations.
• Maintain professional liaisons with law enforcement partners.
