Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited four-year college or university.
  • 3.5 years of professional work experience in HR management functions (recruitment, placement, examination, classification, pay/wage, employee relations, development, HR program development and services, labor relations, and HR research).
  • Experience must demonstrate ability to handle HR programs and accept responsibility in HR administration.
  • Selective Certification-Civil Rights Experience: at least 1 year of investigatory experience involving civil rights laws and investigations.
  • Supervisory aptitude may be demonstrated by potential. Substitutions per Minimum Qualification Requirements apply.

Responsibilities

  • Advise personnel and clientele on EEO, AA, and equal opportunity requirements.
  • Manage the AA program to ensure legal compliance.
  • Serve as the department’s subject matter expert on civil rights matters.
  • Liaise with federal, state, and public entities on civil rights matters.
  • Interpret and apply civil rights laws and regulations; conduct objective discrimination investigations; prepare investigative reports.
