What is the Opportunity?

Aecon Nuclear has been awarded a contract with Ontario Power Generation for the Darlington New Nuclear Project (DNNP). Starting in 2023, we support the design validation, procurement, site preparation, and construction of the Unit 1 Small Modular Reactor at Darlington.

The Civil Quality Control Inspector reports to the Quality Manager and performs in-process and final inspections to ensure construction meets technical and quality standards.

What You’ll Do Here:

• Perform quality inspections and testing in accordance with the Inspection and Test Plan.
• Document inspection results and status.
• Interpret technical drawings for civil works.
• Verify materials meet requirements.
• Initiate non-conformance reports when necessary.
• Identify and segregate nonconforming items.
• Develop and maintain project-specific procedures and work instructions.
• Coordinate with management and external organizations on quality activities.
• Ensure calibrated equipment is used during inspections.
• Assist with the preparation of history files or dockets.
• Promote safety awareness and adherence to safety rules.
• Perform other activities as required.

What You Bring to the Table:

• Civil Engineering Technology Diploma or equivalent; experience may substitute.
• 1-3 years’ experience in heavy civil or infrastructure construction.
• Experience with inspection and testing of concrete.
• Knowledge of CSA standards and building regulations.
• Preferred certifications: ACI/CCIL, CSA W178 Level 1 or 2 Visual Welding Inspection.
• Self-motivated team player, proficient in MS Office.
• Effective communication skills and attention to detail.
