Job summary

Akkodis is seeking an experienced Project Manager (Civil) for a 12-month contract with a client in Oakbrook Terrace, IL 60181. The role oversees utility and civil construction projects in the West-Suburban Illinois region, ensuring scope, schedule, and budget adherence.

The ideal candidate will review contracts, prepare monthly forecasts and cash flows, and lead cross-functional teams across engineering, utilities, and contractors.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of Project Management experience in construction, utility, engineering, or infrastructure projects.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Technical field, or Project Management.
• Experience with electric, gas, water utilities, civil construction, or utility installation/relocation.
• Experience reviewing contract proposals, bids, scopes of work, and contractor documentation.
• Experience preparing project forecasts, monthly cash flows, budgets, and cost projections.
• Strong ability to read and interpret civil construction plans and project documentation.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
• Willingness to travel across the West-Suburban Illinois region.

Responsibilities

• Manage multiple utility/civil construction projects from planning through completion, meeting scope, schedule, budget, quality, and safety.
• Review and interpret civil construction plans, project docs, contracts, proposals, bids to support execution and contractor management.
• Prepare and maintain project forecasts, including monthly cash flow, budget tracking, cost projections.
• Conduct field walkdowns and site visits across the West-Suburban Illinois region and coordinate with contractors, utilities, engineering teams, and other stakeholders.
