Job summary

Jobot, headquartered in Greensboro, North Carolina, seeks a leader to drive design and documentation for public works and land development projects. You will QA/QC studies, assess site constraints, and develop subdivision and public-improvement plans while maintaining strong client relations.

You will coach and mentor teams, demonstrate design leadership, and communicate effectively with sub-consultants, governments, and clients throughout the project lifecycle.

Responsibilities

• Act as the leader of the design process from design, and documentation standpoint for public works and land development projects.
• Develop or perform QA/QC processes for project risk mitigation.
• Preliminary engineering design studies (assessment and consideration of site constraints, and potential regulatory issues)
• Preparation/processing of tentative and final subdivision maps
• Preparation/processing of public improvement plans for public agencies and/or development plans for commercial and residential developments
• Preparation and review of attendant hydrologic studies and drainage reports
• Maintaining a positive client interaction from contract negotiation to construction completion.
• Ensure that coaching, mentoring, and performance-enhancing feedback of assigned team members are provided, particularly related to technical proficiency.
• Provide a positive design leadership example to project teams and to the studio and office.
• Listen and communicate effectively and professionally in a wide variety of settings inside and outside the firm (sub-consultants, conferences, networking events, Governmental Agencies)
• Display willingness to make decisions; exhibit sound and accurate judgment; support and explain reasoning for decisions considering design intent; include appropriate people in decision-making process; make timely decisions
